Chilean pork imports continue to increase

From January to May of this year, pork imports have increased by 65%.

According to data published in the June meat bulletin prepared by Odepa, during the first 5 months of this year, Chilean pork imports totaled 61,235 tons, which is 65% higher than imports were for the same period of the previous year (37,122 tons).

Exports also increased by 9%, with a total of 119,463 t of pork and offal exported.

Production, in this case for the January-April period, was 191,318 tons, a 1.3% increase from the same period in 2020.
