The Ministry of Agriculture of China has informed of the first case of African swine fever in the province of Shanxi. So far, there are 9 provinces affected, as well as the autonomous municipality of Tianjin. The farm is located in the county of Zuoyun, city of Datong, and has 7 cases in 15 susceptible animals.
On the other hand, the outbreaks declared in the province of Liaoning, where the first case of the disease was declared, are soaring. According to the last WOAH/OIE's report, 7 new outbreaks have been detected on pigs farms that affect a total of 36,046 susceptible animals, with 1,584 cases. The number of outbreaks declared in Liaoning as of today reach 21, most of them on commercial farms.
