The Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) received with optimism the information about the rating of the new pork plants for the exportation to China.

They are six fowl and one pork plants. With them, Brazil has now 43 fowl and 11 pork producing units authorised to export to China.

Another novelty is the authorisation for the shipping of bone-in pork cuts from other states, besides Santa Catarina. So far, only the plants in Santa Catarina were allowed to ship these products to the Chinese market.

China is the main destination of Brazilian fowl and pork exports. Between January and August, China imported 348,200 tonnes of fowl (19% more than in the same period in 2018) and 133,500 tonnes of pork (+31%).
