Recently, as the Spring Festival is approaching, demand from farmers has increased, and grain sales have accelerated. The increase in supply caused downward pressure on prices. On the demand side, feed demand has picked up and industrial demand has continued to improve.

The nationwide breeding sow inventory has increased sequentially for three consecutive months, and pig feed production has increased sequentially for four consecutive months. Feed companies and processing enterprises have significantly increased their willingness to purchase before the holiday.

Soybeans

China and the United States have reached agreement on the text of the first-stage economic and trade agreement, but have not yet officially signed it. It is estimated that China's soybean imports in 2019/20 will be 87.68 million tons, an increase of 5.07 million tons or 6.1% over the previous year. Since the fourth quarter of 2019, under the influence of soaring pig prices and various measures to encourage pig breeding, the basic production capacity of pigs nationwide has been actively restored. Pig feed production has increased for 4 consecutive months. Sow feed has increased significantly by 10% in December.

Vegetable oil

It is estimated this month that in 2018/19, vegetable oil production totaled 25.46 million tons, the import was 8.55 million tons, the consumption was 33.38 million tons, and the export was 270,000 tons.
