China - Foot and mouth disease in swine

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) has reported a new outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in pigs in China.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) has reported a new outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in pigs in China.

The affected farm is located in Huangjingwei, Baiyun District, Guangzhou, (GUANGDONG). The infected site is relatively isolated with no cloven-hoofed animals raised in close proximity. All susceptible animals have been destroyed. Serotype O last occurred in the country in 1999.
