China - Spread of foot and mouth disease

Since the first notification of the presence of foot and mouth disease in China, in March 2010, the OIE has reported the appearance of 10 new focal points spread throughout the country.

Since the first notification of the presence of foot and mouth disease in China, in March 2010, the OIE has reported the appearance of 10 new focal points spread throughout the country.

The focal points, that mainly affect porcine and bovine herds are found localized in the autonomous regions or provinces of Guangdong, Gansu, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Ningxia , Guizhou and Xinjiang, this latter region, east of the country, is bordered, among other countries, by Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
