China's pig census sees growth in October

China continues to see growth in pig and sow census, improving the country's supply and demand balance.

The census of reproductive sows in October increased by 3.1% month-on-month and 31.5% year-on-year, representing 5 consecutive months positive growth. The live pig census increased by 4.2% month-on-month and 26.9% year-on-year, representing 4 consecutive months of positive growth.

With the acceleration of the recovery of live pig production and the increase in slaughter volume, the supply and demand situation for pork continues to improve. The price has fallen for 11 consecutive weeks. The market price in the second week of November was 46.47 yuan per kilogram, falling 13.17 yuan compared to the highest point in mid-February.
