China sees increased pork production in first half of the year

Pork production and hog slaughter were up in the first half of 2023.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, pork production was up by 3.2% in the first half of the year. At the end of the second quarter, the number of pigs registered in stock was 435.17 million, up by 1.1% year on year; and 375.48 million pigs were slaughtered, up by 2.6% in the first half year.
