China's pork production is up 38% in the first three quarters

The country's pork production and pig inventory continue to increase.

In the first three quarters of 2021, the output of pork, beef, mutton, and poultry totaled 64.28 million tons, up by 22.4% year-on-year. The national pork output in the first three quarters was 39.17 million tons, up 38.0% year-on-year. Beef production was up 5.3%, mutton +3.9%, and poultry +3.8% percent year on year.

At the end of the third quarter, China's pig inventory was up 18.2% year on year at 437.64 million head, among which 44.59 million head were breeding sows, up by 16.7%.
