An agreement was achieved during the negotiations to start export to Russia from two large pig farms of the Heilongjiang Province. Russian experts who had familiarized themselves with the biosafety level on the farms considered that the safety level was adequate to ensure safety of products indented for the Russian market.
Taking into account that meat products have not been exported from China to Russian since 2004 the start of pork imports is a special occasion. It should be borne in mind that China is the largest pork producer in the world. At the same time though 68 mil tons of pork were produced in the country last year, the export volume was just 147 thousand tons, therefore, China has significant pork resources to export to Russia. In addition to it, the Chamber is ready to guarantee competitive and fair prices for Russian importers.
