During the month of May, Chinese imports of pork and offal were below year-on-year values for the first time (-7.1%, 470,000 t vs. 510,000 t). For June, the decrease was even greater, -16.6%, with a total of 450,000 t vs. 540,000 t imported in June 2020.
In terms of the cumulative figure for the first half of the year, the value continues to be above that of 2020. Between January and June, China imported 2,940,000 t of pork and offal while for the same period of 2020 imports were 2,820,000 t.
