The event is organized by the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (MinTIC), the Rural Agricultural Planning Unit (Upra), and the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation (Agrosavia). It seeks to explore the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to boost productivity and sustainability in the Colombian countryside; the summit will bring together government leaders, IT sector entrepreneurs, agricultural producers, and academia representatives.
Over two days, attendees will participate in panels, presentations, and workshops aimed at understanding the challenges, opportunities, and public policies that revolve around the implementation of AI in Colombian agriculture.
The summit will be organized into four main thematic axes, designed to address the specific challenges of Colombian agriculture and the importance of AI in each of these:
-
AI and productivity in agriculture: discussion on the potential of artificial intelligence to optimize efficiency in all production stages, from planting to marketing of agricultural products.
-
Sustainability and climate change: analysis of the role of AI in the development of sustainable agricultural solutions that mitigate the effects of climate change and reduce the environmental impact of agriculture.
-
Intersectoral collaboration: exploration of models of collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors to promote public policies that facilitate the adoption of AI in Colombian agriculture.
-
Challenges and opportunities in the value chain: identification of the challenges and opportunities for agricultural companies, both large and small, in the adoption of AI, with a focus on the development of new business opportunities.
