The outbreak is limited to a backyard pig farm with 15 susceptible animals (La Guajira). The affected animals are 3 females and 3 males three-month-old without current vaccination against classical swine fever.

No other cases. Active epidemiological surveillance is carried out exhaustively in a 5-km radius zone around the outbreak and in a 5-km surveillance zone; daily follow-up inspections are done and no other sick animals have been found in the monitored areas. Vaccination is forbidden in this zone since 31 May 2013.
