A total of 1,033 serum samples for the diagnosis of classical swine fever will be taken in Valle del Cauca in order to re-certify the department as a disease-free area without vaccination.

The activity will last about a month; a total of 12 technologically advanced farms and 19 backyard farms, strategically located in the municipalities of Trujillo, Dagua, Vijes, Cali, Guacarí, Tuluá, Cartago, Restrepo, el Dovio, la Unión and Obando, will be sampled.

This project is led by the Regional Epidemiology Office and the three regional offices of the ICA Animal Health in the Sectional Valle del Cauca, which are located in the municipalities of Palmira, Tuluá and Cartago.
