The ICA will implement a new action plan against classical swine fever (SCF) in the departments of the Caribbean Coast.

The measures consist of increasing the health controls regarding the movements of pigs, the strengthening the inspection and the surveillance of the pig farms, taking care of more notifications of the suspicion of the presence of CSF, and the free vaccination and the carrying out of more information and guidance conferences for the producers.

Since the beginning of the year, 12 CSF outbreaks have been detected in this area of the country.
