The OIE has reported the emergence of a new outbreak of classical swine fever. The affected farm is in a zone where vaccination was suspended from 1 June 2013. It is a farm for family consumption located in La Sierra (Chiriguana, Cesar) with 48 susceptibles animals of wich 18 cases.

Clinical and virological surveillance is on-going with blood sampling for the detection of classical swine fever by PCR in farms around the outbreak and in the surveillance zone.
