With the aim of controlling and eradicating CSF and to strengthen pig production in all Colombia, the ICA and Asoporcicultores have started an intense free vaccination campaign against this disease in the Atlantic Coast, where since the start of this year 17 outbreaks (that are already controlled) in 4 departments have been confirmed.
Since the start of 2015, and thanks to the protocols established by the ICA, 31 suspected outbreaks have been dealt with in the departments of Cesar, Magdalena, Bolívar and Atlantic, where thanks to the diagnosis, 18 CSF-positive cases were detected and taken care of by activating the contingency plan established by the ICA with quarantines in an area of 10 km around each affected farm and applying the outbreaks surveillance and eradication actions.
