Vaupés, an area considered high risk due to its proximity to the border, is declared free of classical swine fever (CSF). Officials are carrying out epidemiological surveillance activities on backyard farms in communities located along a river area known as Inambú. The conditions of the animals and the absence of symptoms compatible with CSF were verified as well as the immune status of the pigs.

In the case of Bolívar, in response to suspected PPA on an urban farm in the municipality of San Juan Nepomuceno, ICA officials went to take samples to confirm or rule out the presence of CSF. Vaccination against classical swine fever was carried out and supervised on 15 farms in the municipality. This vaccination is done by Porkcolombia- National Swine Fund.
