Within the frame of surveillance activities and thanks to notification from producers, it was possible to detect in the township of Arache, municipality of Chima, department of Cordoba, an area with animals affected by CSF, which was treated and controlled by the ICA, who didn't find a significant mortality of pigs in the area.

Among the activities carried out by the ICA to control the outbreak, Resolution 0678 of January 25, 2016, was issued, declaring quarantine for the township of Arache and the municipality of Chima, in the department of Cordoba.

Entry and exit of pigs were also banned, two mobilization and disinfection checkpoints were set up at the entrances to and exits from neighbouring townships, and other provisions put in place to ensure control and prevent spread of the disease until the quarantine is lifted.
