Evolution of pork production in Colombia and Chile in the last 15 years. Prepared by 333 Latin America with data from ODEPA and Porkcolombia.
In 2024, Colombia not only reached a production record of more than 600,000 tons, but it also surpassed Chile for the first time, rising to fourth place in the ranking of Latin American pork producers and displacing Chile to fifth place.

Colombian swine production has overwhelming potential, not only because of an average annual growth of 8% in the last 10 years but also because of the sustained increase in per capita pork consumption, which in 2024 reached almost 15 kg/inhabitant/year.
Colombia is expected to continue rising in the ranking of Latin American pork producers in the next several years.
