The African swine fever (ASF) outbreak started March 13, 2024 on a semi-modern farm with 193 susceptible animals in the village of Bateguedia II, Daloa department, District of Sassandra-Marahoué.
Two animals were introduced from a farm where several breeders share or rent pens on the same site, and where mortalities have been recorded. Surveillance is both active and passive, with the involvement of breeders' and processors' professional groups.
