Creation of the first pig cluster in Spain

The main pig production companies in Aragon, Catalonia, Navarre and Soria have decided to join efforts to meet the main challenges and treats posed by the future of this sector.

This association, already consisting of Ars Alendi, Vall Companys, Piensos Costa, Portesa, Grupo Jorge, Inga Food, Cooperativa Ganadera de Caspe, Uvesa, Copiso, Pigchamp pro Europa, Cuartesa, Arcoiris, Grupo Alimentario Guissona, Grupo de Saneamiento Porcino, Asociación Nacional de Porcino Selecto (ANPS), Asociación Nacional de Productores de Ganado Porcino and Leridana de Piensos, wants to give answers to the challenges and treats that affect the future of the sector.

This joining together became a reality by mid September, with the signing of an agreement that sets the “starting gun shot”, as defined by the President of the Government of Aragon, Mr Javier Lambán, for the creation of the first pig cluster in Spain “that is not only Aragonese, but national. It is the first pig cluster in Spain, created with a clear vocation for innovation”, Mr Lambán pointed out.
