The meeting of the European Union Ministers of Agriculture took place last Monday. On the basis of information provided by the Commission and the Member States, the ministers exchanged views on the market situation of agricultural products, including the pork sector.
Among the topics discussed, the Polish delegation, as has become customary in recent meetings, presented information on the challenges facing the pork sector in Europe. In view of the current situation facing the sector, the Commission has decided to set up a high-level group on the pork sector, which would work to find a solution to the current crisis in the medium and long term.
Other issues discussed included the economic impact of animal diseases, such as African swine fever.
