The government has made funds totaling 12 million euros available for the construction of 116 kilometers of fences for the control of wild boar along the A7, A26 and D08 Predosa Bettole freeways, between Liguria and Piedmont.
The fence network will be completed by the end of the summer and will require the intervention of 400 people including technicians and workers from Autostrade per l'Italia.
This week, the slaughter of pigs in the infected area begins, estimated at about 500 domestic pigs.
