After the worsening of the situation regarding African swine fever (ASF) in Europe, the Czech Republic's State Veterinary Administration (JSB) has decided to implement additional measures, among them the testing of all the pork and pork by-products shippings from countries affected by ASF.
As of tomorrow, October 2nd, pork shippings will be controlled to detect the presence of the ASF virus DNA. This regulation will be applied to all the national food companies' operators that import products from Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Poland or Romania.
Each shipping will only be accepted into the national market after proving, at the authorised laboratory, that it is negative to the ASF virus DNA.
