The Czech Republic's self-sufficiency in pork decreased by over 20 percentage points to less than 75 percent between 2004 and 2008 and will probably keep falling.

The Czech Republic's self-sufficiency in pork decreased by over 20 percentage points to less than 75 percent between 2004 and 2008 and will probably keep falling.

Pig stocks have also been getting smaller. Between April 2008 and April 2009, they decreased by roughly a fifth to less than 2 million pigs. The ministry said they are now at the same level as in the 1930s.
