According to the Center for development of Québec pork, Canadian exports of pig meat and derived products reached 1.15 million tons in 2014, worth $3,710 M. This represents a decrease of approximately 3% (−31,250 tonnes) compared to the previous year.

The largest decreases were recorded in Asia, specifically to the China/Hong Kong market, with a decrease of 17%, Philippines (−45%) and Taiwan (−7%). By contrast, the two main markets in Canada —covering 51% of the total export volume—, the US and Japan, increased their purchases.
