According to the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, the signing of the memorandum of understanding with China has been delayed until November in order to incorporate an article ensuring that environmental protection laws, natural resources, and biosecurity would be respected.

The memorandum, which was scheduled to be signed in August, includes a pork production project using Argentine land with a shared investment between Chinese and Argentine companies. With the project, it is expected that Argentine production will reach 900,000 tons in four years. The increase in production derived from this project would represent a 40% increase compared to the current production (630,000 tons in 2019).
