The Minister of the Environment and Food of Denmark, Mr Esben Lunde Larsen, has laid on the table the intention of changing the current regulations to improve the welfare of pigs on Danish farms.

The new regulations would allow the farmers, after taking a course, to anaesthetise their animals before their castration, improving significantly the animals’ welfare level.
