The Green Tripartite is now becoming a reality with a broad majority of the parties in the Danish Parliament having agreed on a political framework. The agreement will significantly change the Danish landscape, create more nature, and ensure a good aquatic environment.

Approximately DKK 43 billion will be set aside to implement a radical transformation of Denmark's land area. Ten percent of Denamark's land area will be converted to nature and forest. The agreement provides for 250,000 hectares of more forest with an additional 140,000 hectares currently cultivated on climate-damaging lowland soils to be converted to nature.

Denmark will be the first country in the world to introduce a CO2 tax on emissions from livestock. The initiatives in the agreement are estimated to reduce emissions by up to 2.6 million tons of CO2 by 2030.

The plan seeks to maintain a competitive agricultural sector, investing EUR 1.34 billion in pyrolysis technology and climate-friendly practices.

The agreement also allocates funds to promote plant-based food and organic farming.
