The Danish government has adopted a new package of measures to improve even more the welfare of pigs.
The package of measures that has been adopted includes the group housing for the sows in the insemination and control areas as of 2015 on the newly-built farms and as of 2035 on the already existing farms. The plan also foresees assigning 1.73 million euros to measures in order to avoid castration and tail docking in the case of piglets.
