The Danish Government has launched a new labeling for pork with information on animal welfare. This new label offers consumers a simple way to choose products from animals raised with the highest standards of animal welfare and, in turn, improve the welfare of pigs on Danish farms.

The new label will assign a number of asterisks (1 to 3) to the level of animal welfare, meat assigned a single asterisk already being of very high quality, since the animal will have been raised under better conditions than required by law.
