With the aim of guaranteeing the fulfilment of the harmlessness of the agiculture and farming products consuemd by the population, the Ministry of Agriculture has created the Hazards Analysis Division, which will be ruled, under this matter, by the Codex Alimentarius regulations.
By means of the Regulation No. 8-2014, signed by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Luis Ramón Rodríguez, it is established that the new unit will have, among other functions, the keeping of the information regarding harmlessness updated, with the aim of taking measures in face of the potential risks that affect harmlessness, working together with the departments of Plant and Animal Health.
Additionally, periodic reports on the situation of the agriculture and food, aquaculture and fishing harmlessness conditions will be written for the sessions of the National Committee for the Implementation of Health and Phytosanitary Measures (CNMSF).
Also, coordination and communication mechanisms will be implemented together with other courts for the control of hazards in the Ministry of Agriculture, the Stockbreeding General Directorate, the Public Health Ministry, and the Epidemiology General Directorate.
