The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of El Salvador has decided to suspend imports of pork from Guatemala after confirming the occurrence of classical swine fever in the neighboring country.

Furthermore, the Ministry has asked pork producers to increase biosecurity measures in order to prevent the entry of the disease.

On the other hand, the Ministry revealed that four farms remain under quarantine as a epidemiological precaution due to their importation of pigs for breeding from Guatemala, although the animals do not come from the farm where the outbreak was detected.
