Estonia seeks recognition of disease-free status
Estonia has submitted to the European Commission documentation demonstrating compliance for the whole territory of that Member State with the conditions laid down in Decision 2008/185/EC in order to be recognised as free of Aujeszky’s disease. Following the evaluation of that supporting documentation, Estonia should be recognised as free of Aujeszky’s disease.
Control programs to be approved
Italy has submitted to the Commission supporting documentation for the approval of its control programmes for the eradication of Aujeszky’s disease for 13 Regions and for these regions to be duly listed in Annex II to Decision 2008/185/EC, which lists the Member States or regions thereof where approved national control programmes for the eradication of Aujeszky’s disease are in place.
Portugal has submitted to the Commission supporting documentation for the approval of its control programmes for the eradication of Aujeszky’s disease for the whole territory of that Member State and for this Member State to be duly listed in Annex II to Decision 2008/185/EC.
Following the evaluation of that supporting documentation, the control programmes for the eradication of Aujeszky’s disease for 13 regions of Italy and for Portugal should be approved and Annex II to Decision 2008/185/EC should therefore be amended accordingly.
