Between January and May of 2012 exports of pork from the European Union amounted to a total of 1,285,605 tons, representing a 4.7% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data presented at the meeting of the Common Market Management Committee Organisation held on 19 July. Russia, with 24.9% of the total quota is the main destination for European pork followed by China (15.5%) and Hong Kong (14.8%).
Regarding imports, the decrease in the January-May accumulate is 3.3% compared with the same period last year
