Yesterday (Monday), the Cabinet of Ministers of Agriculture of the EU met, and during their meeting, the Ministers gladly accepted the economic situation and the generally positive prospects in the main segments of the market, but they also showed their concern for the difficult situation in the pork sector regarding African swine fever, and they stood up for a thorough monitoring of the sugar sector.
Regarding the pig sector, and according to informations provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of Spain, the European Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Phil Hogan, informed about the creation of a High Level Group that will study the situation in the sector and make the proper suggestions.
