From the total of 89,000 tonnes of pork that turned to private storage, last May 1st, 60,000 tonnes were released into the market, their destination being, mainly, third countries, according to the information provided by the 'Marché du Porc Breton' in its bulletin. These figures entail approximately 3% of the total monthly production of the EU.
The contracts for the storage for 90 days were mainly signed by Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark, whilst countries like Spain, Italy and Poland signed longer term contracts that will expire next June.
