The European Commission has published, in the Official Journal of the EU, the two new kinds of posters destined to draw attention to travellers from third countries regarding the applicable veterinary conditions on the personal shipments brought into the EU, specifically animal products in the travellers' luggage.
The entry of animal products by the travellers implies a danger for animal health in the EU, because they can contain pathogens that cause infectious animal diseases.
In article 3 of Regulation (EC) 206/2009 it is established that the member states must ensure that in all the entry points to the EU the travellers from third countries are warned about the veterinary conditions applicable to the personal shipments brought into the EU. The information facilitated to the travellers must include, at least, the facts that appear on one of the two following posters:
