Europen Union: the upward trend continues in pork exports

During the first 7 months of this year pork exports have reached 1,759,769 tons, which signifies a 20.5% increase with respect to the same period last year.

The latest data from the Management Committee of the Single Market European Commission regarding the trade of pork during the period between January and June of 2011 again shows an increase in the export of pork.

During the first 7 months of this year pork exports have reached 1,759,769 tons, which signifies a 20.5% increase with respect to the same period last year. Russia continues at the top of the list, with a total of 427,277 tons exported, representing 27.7% of the total, Hong Kong (292,943 tons, representing 16.6% of the total) and China in third place with 178,522 tons (10.1% of the total). South Korea stands out again due to its significant increase in exports, situated at 113% with respect to the same period last year.

Regarding imports, these continue the downward trend with an accumulated reduction of 20.7% and a total reduction of 21,239 tons.
