Europe: an increase in pork exports during the first nine months

Exports of pork from the EU show a cumulate between January and September of 2,373,957 tons, an increase of 22%.

The latest data published by the Management Committee of the Agricultural Markets Organization on November 17th, shows an increase in pork exports to the EU, with a cumulate between January and September of 2,373,957 tons, representing an increase of 22% over the same period last year. Russia remains the main destination, followed by Hong Kong, China, Japan and South Korea. Highlighted is the significant increase in exports to China and South Korea (95% and 112%) over the same period last year.


Imports continue the trend of recent months, with a decrease of 15.4% during the first 9 months of this year compared to the first nine months of 2010.
