Europe: surge in African swine fever cases in wild boars

In Eastern Europe, African swine fever is expanding increasingly. Since the beginning of this year there have been 2,259 new African swine fever cases in the European Union and Ukraine.

The last data published by the European Commission through its animal diseases notification system (ADNS), show how between January 1st and April 15th, 2018 the African swine fever cases in wild boars have rocketed, with 2,259 cases, reaching more than half of the total cases notified in 2017.
