China's share of EU pork exports has more than halved.

In the first nine months of this year, EU pork exports were 18.2% below compared to those registered the same period last year (3,917,697 tons vs. 4,787,623 t). Since 2018, exports have not dropped below 4 million t during the first 9 months of the year.

China remains the leading destination, although its share in total exports has halved, from 2,173,489 t between January and September 2021 to 1,062,955 t for the same period this year. China is followed by the United Kingdom, Japan, the Philippines and Korea, as the main destinations, for which their share has increased.

Exports to these main destinations during the first nine months of this year have increased compared to the same period of the previous year (Japan +30.8%, the Philippines +34.8% and Korea +52.2%), while they have decreased for China (-51.1%) and United Kingdom (-10.2%).
