The last data of the pig meat trade of the European Union presented during the last "Single CMO" Management Committee that took place last Thursday, November 22nd show a fall in the pig meat exports.
During the last nine months, the European Union pig meat exports, that have totalized 2,326,699 tons, have decreased by 2% with respect to the same period of the previous year, when they reached 2,373,957 tons. The main destinations are still Russia, China and Hong Kong, with quotas of a 24.9%, a 17.8% and a 12.0%, respectively, although in the case of Russia and Hong Kong the exports have fallen by 9% and 31% with respect to the same period last year. On the other hand, the exports to China have risen by 54%. Important falls have also been detected in the exports to South Korea and the Philippines, that have decreased by 30% and 25%, respectively.
In relation to the imports, they follow the tendencies of the last months, with a fall by 7%, totalizing 26,488 tons.
