Following the submission to the European Medicines Agency requesting an amendment to the maximum residue limits (MRLs) relating to altrenogest, and the subsequent presentation of additional data, the Committee for Medicinal Products for Veterinary Use recommends the modification of the existing MRLs in the case of altrenogest. In the specific case of swine these MRLs are set at the 4 µg/kg for skin and fat and 2 µg/kg for liver.

The next step is to fix a reasonable time for interested parties concerned to take necessary measures to adapt to the new MRLs. This applies starting on April 2, 2012.
