Exports of pork from the EU increased by 7.6%

Data from the European Committee for the Common Organisation of the Agricultural Markets about pork exports from the European Union over the past year show that, with a total of 3,263,353 tonnes, exports increased by 7.6% compared to 2014. This increase contrasts with the 5% decline that took place in 2014 compared to 2013.

Like last year, the main destination by far was China, with a total of 1,109,202 t  exported (34% of total exports and an increase of 55% over the previous year), followed by Japan, with 330,193 t (10.1% of the total and a decrease of 5%) and Hong Kong with 290,989 tonnes (8.9% of the total and a decrease of 29%). Less common destinations are South Korea (7.1% of the total), the Philippines (5.8%), United States (3.1%) and Ukraine (3%.)
