For several months now, no new cases of African swine fever (ASF) have been detected in the affected areas in the districts of Barnim, Märkisch-Oderland, Oder-Spree, Prignitz, or in the independent city of Frankfurt (Oder), which means that core areas and restrictions for agriculture and forestry can be lifted.
Since September 2020, ASF has been introduced into the State of Brandenburg through the migration of wild boar along the entire border between Poland and Brandenburg. To date, eleven core areas have been established, three of which were already lifted last year.
