These are confined wild boar that were to be released into the forest for hunting. There were 108 susceptible animals on the site (3 boars, 15 sows, and 90 piglets), of which 2 tested positive.

The OIE considers contamination of other non-captive wildlife specimens, by contact through the fence, is very likely. There is no epidemiological link with domestic pig farms. Within the 5 km perimeter around the infected site, no other wild boar enclosures or domestic pig farms were found.
