After the favourable conversations with the European Commission on the possibility of experimenting in France with a labeling of origin of meat in ready-made foods, and of milk in dairy products for two years, the Council of State of France issued, last July, a favourable judgment. This eases the establishment of the compulsory labeling of origin for meat and milk as of January 1st 2017.

Thanks to the Ministers of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, an enquiry meeting was held with the representatives of the affected sectors and the groups of consumers in order to work on the precise terms for the implementation of this text and, especially, of the inclusion threshold from which the labeling obligation will be enforced.
