France: Strategic Plan for the pig sector in the Great West

In a joint statement, on March 11th, the PRCs of Brittany and Pays de la Loire, and the NPPA announced that “they strongly support the project for the creation of a POA”.

The Pig Regional Committees of the French regions of Brittany and Pays de la Loire, as well as the Norman Pig Producer's Association have decided to jointly define and develop a strategic plan for pig farmers.

The goals of the project for the creation of a POA (Producer's Organisations Association) are:

Restore the market power to the farmers.
Guarantee the valuation of an improvement in the collective quality that responds to the society's expectations.
Facilitate the transmission of farms.
